A new standard: the LDR® flattened rod
|
  |
Variable rigidity and constant diameter
• 3 rods of different thicknesses and constant diameter
(6mm) are available, providing different construct rigidity
options.
• All rod thicknesses are compatible with all screws and
connectors.
• Provides the flexibility to determine the appropriate
stiffness after pedicle screws are in place. |
Protection stop
• The rod ends incorporate a 2mm stop to avoid any
unintentional over-shooting of the rod at the superior
and inferior screw assembly.
• Helps to protect the articular facet joints by
allowing the rod end to be completely contained within
the screw head, reducing the incidence of facet joint
impingement.
|
 |
Connecting rods
• Transverse connectors can be used in either
compression or distraction.
• Lateral connectors provide additional flexibility, and
incorporate the same multi-axial connection used in the
standard screws.
|
 |
The LDR flattened rod allows a considerable increase in the mechanical reliability of tightening by increasing the contact surface between the locking device and the rod.
The rod diameter remains constant and rigidity depends on the variations in height of the flattened segment.
|
Rotational control
• The flat-on-flat design provides superior rotational control after final tightening. |
 |
Restoration of lordosis
• The angle of the flattened segment of the LDR rod helps
to define the profile of lordosis in the final assembly. |
